You will be met at San Jose airport by your English speaking driver who will welcome you to Costa Rica and help you with your bags. They will take you directly to your hotel by private transfer (about 30 minutes depending on traffic). Start your trip with dinner on the rooftop restaurant of your hotel!
You’ll be picked up early this morning to start your scenic trip through Braulio Carillo national park. A hearty breakfast is served at a local restaurant in the town of Guapiles. After breakfast continue by road past banana plantations, stopping to see how they are packaged. The final part of the journey is by boat arriving to the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch explore the jungle canals of Tortuguero national park by boat. You will see troops of monkeys, sloths, caiman, river turtles, iguanas and much more!
This morning enjoy a guided nature walk along the private rainforest trails of your jungle lodge. Your guide will point out the different types of birds and other wildlife that can be seen here. After lunch you will visit the tiny village of Tortuguero where the 1200 inhabitants live. Visit the turtle museum and learn about why this is such an important site for Green Sea Turtles. Optional turtle tour at night available from July to October.
Depart the lodge after breakfast boat back to the dock and then by road to Guapiles. Stop for lunch here before taking the shuttle to Sarapiqui where you will be dropped at your lodge. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax by the river, explore the nature trails, do some bird watching, or take a dip in the pool.
Get up at the crack of dawn today for an early morning bird watching tour around the private reserve. A resident birding guide will help you spot some of the hundreds of species of birds you can see on the property. After breakfast spend the rest of the day exploring the private reserve. You could take several hiking tours, go white water rafting, take a boat trip, visit the La Selva Biological station and more!
Today you are picked up at your hotel by the shuttle that will take you directly to your hotel in Arenal where the famous volcano is located. The drive takes about 2 hours. Experience the primary rainforest up close from the tops of the trees. Enjoy a guided nature walk along a network of trails including 16 suspension bridges. Your naturalist guide will teach you about this unique eco system and point out the huge variety of flora and fauna that can be found in the reserve.
There are no activities scheduled for today so you can relax and enjoy the comforts of your hotel. There are many activities available in Arenal including chocolate tours, zip lining, horse riding, rafting tours, mountain biking and more!
You will be picked up this morning and taken to the shore of Lake Arenal where you will board a small boat for the scenic crossing to the other side of the lake. The boat trip takes about 1 hour with wonderful views of the volcano and the surrounding area. Many migratory birds can be spotted along the way. On arrival to the other side you will be taken the remainder of the journey by shuttle bus to Monteverde. Afternoon at leisure in the cloud forest.
The Monteverde Reserve is one of the most biologically rich in Costa Rica and supports a staggering variety of plants and animals including over 500 species of birds. There are 13 kilometres of nature trails that wind through the forest that is often shrouded in cloud creating a mysterious and unique atmosphere. There is also a hummingbird garden where you can watch these wonderful birds.
You will be picked up at your hotel and taken by shuttle bus transfer directly to your hotel in Manuel Antonio. The drive takes about 4 hours. After checking in the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax by the pool or take a tour of the nearby wildlife refuge and butterfly atrium.
Manuel Antonio is arguably Costa Rica’s prettiest national park. It is a picture perfect tropical paradise with thick jungle emerging onto pristine white sand beaches. You start with an informative walk along the trails spotting troops of monkeys, sloths, coatis, iguanas and lots of other wildlife. After the walk enjoy some beach and a dip in the warm tropical waters before returning to your hotel.
End your trip relaxing by the hotel pool, taking a trip to the beach, or indulging in a spa treatment. For the more active kayaking excursions, catamaran tours, horse riding and river rafting are all available. We can also organise a visit to a local wildlife sanctuary.
