You will be met on arrival by your friendly, English speaking driver who will welcome you to Costa Rica and take you directly to your hotel which is about a 30 minute drive. Afternoon at leisure to relax and explore the beautiful botanical gardens at your hotel or take a dip in the pool.
Today you start your journey south travelling by road to the small mountain village of San Gerardo de Dota. This beautiful and remote area of the country is lesser visited and unspoiled. Check in to your cosy lodge. Afternoon at leisure to explore the surroundings, go bird watching or hiking.
The Resplendent Quetzal is one of the most beautiful birds in the Americas and a large population can be found here in San Gerado de Dota. Go out before breakfast with an expert guide in search of this magnificent bird. Return to the lodge for a hot coffee and hearty breakfast.
After breakfast you will start your exciting journey to your remote eco lodge. You will drive further south for about 4 hours until you reach Golfito. From here you will take a boat across the calm waters of the Golfo Dulce to arrive at your lodge. The boat trip takes about 30 minutes and whales and dolphins can often be seen along the way. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax and enjoy this tranquil location before dinner is served in the canopy level restaurant.
During your time at Playa Nicuesa you have included three meals a day, access to several different self guided nature trails, use of kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkeling equipment and fishing equipment. You also get to choose from a variety of other half day and full day excursions.
Today you depart the lodge and the Golfo Dulce, travelling around the peninsula to a town called Sierpe. From here you take a boat for two hours through mangroves then out onto the open ocean before landing on a wild and remote beach at a unique lodge in a spectacular location.
Famously declared by National Geographic as ‘the most biologically intense place on the planet’ Corcovado National Park is last remaining stretch of Pacific lowland rainforest in all of Central America. You will have a full day exploring the trails, waterfalls, wildlife and birdlife of this remote and beautiful corner of Costa Rica, accompanied by professional guides.
Today your guide will take you on a boat trip for 40 minutes to a deserted tropical island called Caño Blanco in the Pacific ocean. The island is surrounded by a coral reef which is a fantastic spot for snorkeling or scuba diving. It is protected as part of a marine reserve and you can expect to see a variety of tropical fish and even manta rays, white tipped reef sharks and turtles.
Day 10: Casa Corcovado to La Sirena Ranger Station
Today you travel further south by boat to the La Sirena Ranger station in the heart of Corcovado National Park. This is the best area in the park to observe wildlife and particularly the otherwise rarely spotted Tapir. This is a remote location where you will see few other people, which is perfect for keen naturalists and photographers. Spend the night here.

Day 11: La Sirena to Casa Corcovado
After breakfast this morning there is some time to explore the area once more before you are taken back by boat to Casa Corcovado (about 1.5 hours). The rest of the afternoon and evening is at leisure to relax by the pool.
After breakfast you return by boat to Sierpe (2 hours). From here you have time for some refreshments before you continue your journey by road to Uvita. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax by the pool and enjoy the coastal views.
Discover the natural beauty of the Marino Ballena national park. The tour starts from Punta Uvita Beach visiting the famous Uvita Whale Tale, Ballena Island, Tres Hermanas Islets and the Ventana Sea Caves. Both Humpback and Pilot whales can be seen in season along with several species of dolphins. You will also go snorkeling to experience a variety of marine wildlife.
Your final day is at leisure to relax or take an additional excursion. Your hotel provides complimentary shuttles to the beach, or you could walk in about 20 minutes. You could also visit a nearby waterfall among other activities.
