Palacio Astoreca was originally built as a Victorian style mansion in 1923 by Francisco Petrinovic, a Croatian immigrant, who came over from Europe during the salt-peter boom. Occupying the city’s most exclusive address the hotel is set overlooking Valparaiso’s magnificent bay with views to the harbour and the famous multi-coloured houses that litter the hillside. Each of the rooms are individually designed combining modern comfort with vintage and designer touches.
The sweeping views over Valparaiso from the hotel terrace are not to be missed!
The spa offers a traditional wood-fire heated hot tub, a pool and a selection of rejuvenating treatments. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace and take advantage of their extensive wine cellar. Perfectly located in the historic hub of the city many of the most interesting sites such as the funicular el peral and Pablo Neruda’s house are within easy walking distance. After a day of exploring the piano bar is a favourite place to enjoy some live music with a traditional pisco sour cocktail.
