Guanacaste

Overview

The Guanacaste province is located in Costa Rica’s north western corner and is the driest part of the country. Named after the guanacaste tree, which is the national tree of Costa Rica, the sunny province has some of the country’s best beaches and most luxurious hotels dotted along many miles of coastline. The legendary pacific swells attract keen surfers to some of the wilder parts of the coast. Inland there are secluded canyons, perfect or adventure lovers, active volcanoes and mangrove forests. Most visitors, however, come here just to sit back on a coconut palm beach and relax!

Hot Guanacaste boasts some of Costa Rica's best beaches, or go inland for volcanoes, mangrove forests and an adventure lover's paradise!
