Puerto Viejo & Southern Caribbean
Puerto Viejo is an unhurried and quirky beach town situated on the Caribbean coast in Costa Rica’s far flung south eastern corner. Expect surf shacks, bamboo bars and the sound of reggae music wafting down the dusty streets. Beaches are wild and beautiful and fringed by thick jungle where sloths hang lazily in the trees. Further along the southern Caribbean coast there is the Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, a fantastic spot for enjoying Costa Rica’s tropical nature. Bike rides are a favourite pass time in this relaxed and lesser visited region. There is also good kayaking and snorkeling.
Relaxed and easy going, the low key surfer town of Puerto Viejo, tucked away on the southern Caribbean coast, is full of good vibes!
