Selva Bananito is one of Costa Rica’s most respected eco lodges, located in it’s own private biological reserve amongst the Talamanca mountains near to the southern Caribbean coast. The lodge is located on a working family farm who have farmed the land since the 1950’s. Still family run, the lodge maintains a strong commitment to conservation and sustainability and boasts the smallest carbon footprint in the country. The 11 individual bungalows are spread out along a ridge with two streams on either side and beautiful views.
The raised bungalows are lit at night by candlelight with the natural soundtrack of the jungle creating a magical atmosphere
Raised off the ground on stilts in the Caribbean style, each bungalow was built using salvaged and recycled wood from the local area. The superior bungalows feature private decks, hammocks, solar heated hot water and tiled private bathrooms. Although due to their unique location there are little mosquitos, nets are provided for the comfort of the guests. Activities include horse riding, guided nature walks, hiking, zip lining, repelling, tree climbing and bird watching.
