Located a couple of hours drive north of Quito, Hacienda Zuleta is a 2000 hectare working farm belonging to the former president of Ecuador Galo Plaza Lasso. The property has remained in the Lasso family for more than 100 years. Guests are reminded of the fascinating history of the hacienda in every room with displays of original antiques, paintings and artifacts. Surrounded by the picturesque scenery of the Ecuadorian Andes, the hacienda is located at 2800 metres above sea level.

Every room comes with its own fireplace that keeps guests warm and cosy during the chilly nights. The hacienda has 300 cattle, 200 sheep and 100 horses making it a haven for horse riding enthusiasts. There is a dairy, creamery and organic garden producing delicious home made country cuisine. The condor rehabilitation project is located within the grounds and the hacienda is involved in a number of community projects. Mountain bikes and a horse drawn carriage are available for guests to explore the bucolic surroundings.
