The original building that the Casa Andina Premium Arequipa now occupies dates from 1550 and was formerly the ‘Casa de la Moneda’ (The Mint), one of the most historic national landmarks in the country. During the meticulous restoration carried out in 2007 there were many unexpected discoveries including original gold leaf murals, frescoes and a chapel that had been hidden for years.

The old mansion was also tastefully adapted to include a striking modern skylight and new rooms located by a second patio.
