Beach Holidays Highlights in Costa Rica
There are so many great beaches to choose from in Costa Rica, but you needn’t limit yourself to just one. With great transport links and infrastructure, Costa Rica is surprisingly easy to get around, and you’ll be able to beach hop along the coast and from one side of the country to the other, perhaps even taking in a few rainforests and volcanoes as you cross between the Caribbean and the Pacific.
Tortuguero National Park on the Caribbean side is home to a huge population of turtles, and you can step off the white sands and into an underwater world teeming with life. Further south and one of the most famed beach destinations in Costa Rica is Puerto Vieja de Salamanca, where you can even trade white sands for dramatic, black sand, volcanic beaches.
For a classic beach getaway with great hotels and great restaurants, then spend your holiday on the Papagayo Peninsula. Located on the Pacific Coast, this is one of the most developed areas for tourists. But while you can find luxurious hotels, it’s also surprisingly secluded and surrounded by natural beauty.
If you want to get away from the crowds and discover the most secluded beaches in Costa Rica, then travel to the southern Pacific coastline, where you can find raw scenery hidden amongst national parks. It can be difficult finding the most secluded beaches but, in the end, it’s well worth the extra effort if you’re looking to get off the beaten track.
