The beaches inside Manuel Antonio National Park are pristine – just watch out for the monkeys who will often try to steal your belongings!

Manuel Antonio is the country’s smallest, but most famous national park. Whilst it is no secret and can get busy in high season, it is certainly one of Costa Rica’s most picturesque corners. Tiny Manuel Antonio village has a beachfront and some restaurants but the best beaches are found inside the park. All the hotels are located up on the rainforested hills behind the village with spectacular views out to the Pacific. The national park and wildlife are the area’s main draws but other activities such as kayaking, fishing and catamaran tours are available.
