TRUJILLO & CHICLAYO | PERU

Why Visit Trujillo & Chiclayo in Peru?

"Marvel at the imposing pyramids of the Moche civilisation and the ruins of the Chimu city of Chan Chan, the pre-Inca civlisations that thrived in Peru’s northern region."

With a huge central plaza flanked by grand colonial buildings painted in different colours, Trujillo on the northwest pacific coast is a pretty and amiable city. Most travelers, however, come here to visit the nearby archeological site of Chan Chan which was once the capital of the pre-Incan Chimu civilisation. The sacred pyramids of the temple of the sun are also nearby. 200 kilometres north of Trujillo is the slightly smaller city of Chiclayo where there are tombs of the Moche civilisation and a creepy witch doctors market! Known as the “city of friendship” Chiclayo is an interesting and historic town.
