Bosque de Paz, which translates as ‘peace forest’, is a small and secluded, family run lodge in Costa Rica’s central mountains. It is located close to the tiny rural village of Bajos del Toro in an undeveloped and unspoilt area of Costa Rica. The lodge is set within its own private cloud forest reserve made up of crystal clear mountain streams, valleys, rivers and waterfalls. The owners are passionate conservationists who are dedicated to promoting the importance of conservation through education.

You can also plant a tree in the forest to contribute to reforestation and carbon offsetting. Within the wonderful grounds you will find hummingbird and butterfly gardens as well as a fantastic orchid garden which is regularly visited by biologists studying in the area. The rooms are simple but comfortable and very spacious. All come with ample private balconies with views to the cloud forest. Home cooked meals are served in the dining room and there is a natural history library as well as a communal area with TV and board games.
