Chilcabamba Mountain Lodge ● Cotopaxi ● Ecuador

Situated at 3480 metres above sea level, Chilcabamba Mountain Lodge enjoys a tranquil setting in a secluded valley just 90 minutes drive from Quito and 6 kilometres from Cotopaxi National Park. This rustic, warm and welcoming lodge has seven charming rooms with en-suites and three separate bungalows each with two bedrooms. Constructed in a traditional style with entirely local and recycled materials, the lodge is simple but comfortable with thatched roofs, wooden furniture and adobe walls.

Wood burning stoves in every room and thick blankets and ponchos create a cosy atmosphere and keep the guests warm through the chilly nights. Hearty home cooked local dishes are served in the restaurant and evenings are often spent around the camp fire gazing at the night sky. Views from every room in the lodge are spectacular and on a clear day the snow capped Cotopaxi volcano can be seen. Chilcabamba is the perfect base for exploring the area with a number of outdoor activities available.
