Floreana Lava Lodge β Galapagos Islands β Ecuador
Owned and run by one of the original families to settle on the island, Floreana Lava Lodge is a quaint and charming hotel made up of 10 ocean facing private pinewood cabins. Built on black lava sands the cabins feature a wooden deck with chairs providing a perfect spot to watch the spectacular sunsets. Guests will often see penguins, sea lions, blue footed boobies and other wildlife just outside their cabins. Cabins are fairly basic but come with a hairdryer, safe, a private bathroom and can accommodate up to three people with twin and bunk beds available.
"Lava Lodge is a family run property with bags of character in a quiet and secluded setting on the edge of a black lava sand beach."
The Cruz family who own and run the hotel also have their own organic farm where they grow most of the produce that is used in the restaurant. Delicious home cooked meals are served family style in a relaxed environment along with special BBQβs. The lodge is just a few metres from a black lava sand beach, a couple of minutes walk from another white sand beach and close to a sea lion colony too. Evenings are spent enjoying the fantastic sunsets over the ocean.
