Grano De Oro Hotel β San Jose β Costa Rica
The Grano de Oro hotel started life as the private residence of the Pozuelo family, built in a Victorian style around the turn of the 20th century. Since then the old mansion has been converted into a luxurious but cosy and homely hotel. The interior is warm and welcoming with ornate dark wood furniture, original art pieces, calming water features and interesting antiques. Rooms are extremely well appointed and the higher category of Garden Suite comes with its own private outdoor patio.
"This is a fantastic hotel to arrive at after a long flight, or just before you leave β friendly, welcoming and a world class restaurant."
Set around an open air courtyard, tastefully lit by table lamps and candles, the restaurant is very well regarded and certainly the best place to eat in San Jose. It is open to the public and popular with the more discerning locals. There is also a rooftop terrace with two jacuzzis to relax in as the sun goes down. Located on a quiet street in an upmarket neighbourhood this hotel is a peaceful and tranquil oasis.
