Hacienda Abraspungo is located in a quiet residential suburb of Riobamba in Ecuador’s Andes mountains, an essential stopping off point along the Avenue of Volcanoes. This is a lovely hacienda with lots of space, tranquil gardens and large, comfortable rooms. Each of the en-suite rooms have been names after a different mountain in Ecuador and all have direct access to the fantastic gardens. The décor is traditional with wooden beams, pieces of local art and painted exposed brick walls.

Some rooms come with their own wood burner to keep guests warm through the chilly Andean nights. Old photographs and quirky original antiques can be found throughout the property giving it a lot of character. There is an excellent restaurant, bar and lounge, a kids play area in the garden and several indoor and outdoor seating areas included a heated terrace. Abraspungo makes a great base to explore the nearby Chimborazo nature reserve and surrounding landscape.
