Hacienda Concepción is an Amazon lodge located on the banks of the Madre de Dios River and on the borders of the Tambopata National Park. The lodge is accessed by plane and boat via the jungle city of Puerto Maldonado. The property is 819 hectares of rainforest that started life as a cacao and rubber plantation. The lodge itself has 25 private cabañas and a main house with five further rooms.

The rooms and cabañas are very comfortable offering natural toiletries, cotton bathrobes, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. There are reading lights but electricity is also limited to certain times of day. There are two main social areas including a large dining area and a bar. All the food comes from the lodge’s own private organic farm and focusses on fresh local produce. On the second floor of the main building there is a scenic lounge. A team of knowledgeable local guides lead the wide variety of daily excursions available.
