Playa Cativo β Osa Peninsular β Costa Rica
Surrounded by the dense rainforest of the Piedras Blancas national park on the shores of the tranquil Golfo Dulce sits Playa Cativo, a small luxury eco lodge. Conscious of its pristine natural environment, the lodge maintains strong environmental principles and sustainability practices. The unobtrusive wooden structure was built using reclaimed and salvaged wood from the local area and the on site organic farm provides fresh produce that is served in the gourmet restaurant.
"Backing onto untamed jungle in the middle of nowhere and only accessible by boat, Playa Cativo is all about immersing yourself in nature."
Each of the homely rooms come with ocean and rainforest views, hot water rain showers, biodegradable toiletries and comfortable king size beds. The remote location makes it a fantastic spot for wildlife with frequent sightings of scarlet macaws, peccaries, agoutis, several species of monkey, giant morpho blue butterflies and abundant bird life. Many activities are available during your stay including kayaking through mangroves, snorkelling, stand up paddle, nature hikes, self guided trails, yoga, bird watching, nocturnal walks and more.
