Posadas Amazonas is built on the banks of the river and offers an authentic experience of the Peruvian Amazon. The lodge is located within a private reserve owned by the Ese Eja native community of Infierno, which is adjacent to the Tambopata National Reserve. To reach the lodge you travel by boat for two hours from Puerto Maldonado. This location benefits from relatively easy access as well as being far enough away from the city for excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Rooms are arranged into three categories, superior, comfort and suite.

The main difference between the categories is the size, and the fact the superior rooms don’t have hammocks and only twin single beds. All rooms, however, have private bathrooms, hot water, one open side and mosquito nets for a genuine jungle experience! The lodge is one of the best for families due to easy access and a fantastic array of activities. Daily excursions include the parrot and macaw clay licks, canopy tower, giant rover otter search, build your own raft, mountain biking, night walks, monkey search, bird watching, piranha fishing, a visit to the local community and much more!
