Trapp Family Lodge ● Monteverde ● Costa Rica
Trapp Family Lodge is a homely hotel built in a European chalet style that is typical in Monteverde. Located on a very steep hill it is the closest property to the Monteverde reserve and the furthest away from Santa Elena town. Surrounded by the lush cloud forest it is a quiet and peaceful spot, especially good for bird watching. The interior of the lodge is fairly basic with just a very small area for the reception, restaurant and bar.

There are some rooms located in the main lodge whilst the mountain suites are housed in a separate building further up the path. These rooms are particularly spacious with a couple of arm chairs facing the huge picture windows providing excellent views of the cloud forest. Rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, coffee making facilities, private bathrooms, a telephone and cable TV. There is no heating, however, and the nights can sometimes get a little chilly.
