Originally owned by Rodrigo Carazo Odio, former president of Costa Rica, Villa Blanca is a respected rural hotel located within the Los Angeles Private Cloud Forest Reserve in the central region of Costa Rica. The hotel comprises 34 individual casitas spread out amongst substantial grounds and gardens including a picturesque chapel that creates a village feel. Rooms are decorated in a traditional Costa Rican style with dark woods, cosy fireplaces, rocking chairs and natural stone.

The hotel has become a centre for conservation through its on site biological research station where resident scientists carry out important conservation projects. Guests are invited to visit the station and interact with the scientists. Most of the food served in the restaurant is grown on site in the organic garden and various greenhouses. There is also a dairy farm where guests can try their hand at milking the cows! Other facilities include a spa, yoga and meditation studio, excellent nature trails and a cinema and games room.
