The best time to go is between April and October which is the driest time of year in the Andes and Southern Peru. During this time you can expect hot days and cold nights in the mountains. This is the best time for trekking and seeing Machu Picchu on a clear day.
When is the best time to visit the Peruvian Amazon?
The Amazon remains hot and humid year round with a high water season in the north between December and May and a low water season from June to November.
When not to visit Peru?
We do not recommend travelling in February which is the rainiest month of the year. The Inca trail also shuts completely for the whole of February.
