LA PAZ | BOLIVIA

Why Visit La Paz?

"A dramatic location on this high altitude plateaux makes any visit to La Paz memorable and a city experience like few others."

La Paz is a city that has a more spectacular setting than just about any other. As your taxi or bus crawls through the narrow canyon, you will be able to see the city for the first time. It's an incredible sight. La Paz is located at 3500m above the sea level in a hollow cut into the Altiplano. The scene is a stunning juxtaposition: the central cluster of office blocks and church spires are dwarfed by Mount Illimani, the majestic icebound peak rising to the southeast. The steep valley slopes are surrounded by the homes of the poorer residents, who cling to the most severe gradients. This city is a feast for the senses.
