Chichen Itza is located far from the coast in humid jungles of Yucatan and is hot all year. You can avoid the worst of the heat and rain by visiting Chichen Itza during the dry season November to April.

If you want some sort of tranquility at the ruins it is better to avoid December and January as they are the most popular months for tourists. You can expect thousands of tourists from Cancun to join you during this time. For a better balance between crowds and good weather, you should try to visit the shoulder months, which are November, February and March.
