Why Visit Lake Titicaca in Peru?

"Take a trip across the highest navigable lake in the world, meet the indigenous Uros people who live on floating islands made of reeds and visit Taquile island for its world renown textiles and panoramic views."

High up at 3800 metres on the Andean Plateau sits Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America and highest navigable body of water in the world. The huge lake spans the border of Peru and Bolivia and has several islands which have been inhabited for thousands of years. There are many different indigenous groups in the area including the Uros people who live on floating islands that they have entirely constructed from the tortora reeds found in the lake.
